This isn’t just a playing surface—it’s where memories are made.

How Much Room for a Tennis Court?

The space required for a tennis court depends on how you plan to use it and what features you want to include—like fencing, lighting, or seating. That said, there are standard dimensions to keep in mind.

A regulation singles court measures 78 feet long by 27 feet wide. For doubles, the width increases to 36 feet. But that’s just the playing area. You’ll also need space around the court for safe movement and any extra features.

To comfortably fit everything, we recommend a total area of at least 120 feet by 60 feet. This includes:

  • 21 feet behind each baseline

  • 12 feet on each side of the court

When you work with AG Sports Surfaces, we help you make the most of your available space—ensuring your court is both functional and enjoyable to use.

Asphalt Courts

Asphalt tennis courts are a cost-effective, long-lasting option—ideal for backyards, HOAs, and community spaces. Asphalt offers a smooth, consistent surface that plays well and keeps construction costs down. We take care of everything: preparing the site, building a strong base, and installing the asphalt surface to hold up for years. After that, we finish with court striping, nets, and any final details so your new court is ready for play.

Concrete Courts

Post-tension concrete tennis courts offer exceptional performance and longevity—perfect for clubs, communities, and dedicated players. This construction method resists cracking better than traditional concrete, creating a low-maintenance surface built to last. While the initial investment is higher, the long-term savings on repairs and upkeep make it a smart, cost-effective choice for high-use courts.

Resurfacing

Cracks, fading, and surface wear can make your tennis court less safe and less enjoyable to play on. Our resurfacing services bring your court back to life with a smooth, fresh finish that improves both appearance and performance. From crack repair and new color coatings to fresh lines, we use high-quality materials to get your court looking and playing its best again.
