Peoria Sports Courts

If you’ve looked at building a court before, you’ve probably heard a lot of promises. Fast timelines, low prices, great results. Then you see courts around the Peoria area that cracked after a couple years, or surfaces that drain so poorly they’re unplayable after every storm. That’s what happens when the work gets rushed.

We’ve been building and repairing sports courts in Peoria and across Central Illinois for over 20 years. Tennis, pickleball, basketball. Homes, schools, parks, HOAs. The Illinois River valley gets wet, the winters are hard, and the clay soils around here don’t drain well on their own. We know how to build for those conditions. A properly built tennis court lasts 20 to 25 years. A poorly built one starts showing cracks in 3. The difference isn’t magic. It’s proper drainage, the right base materials, and not rushing the job to save a few days.

We handle everything. Site grading, drainage systems, compacted stone base, asphalt or post-tension concrete, acrylic surfacing, fencing, net posts. You pick the colors. We make sure water goes where it’s supposed to go and the surface plays true.

The heavy clay soils around Peoria hold water. If drainage isn’t engineered correctly, you get heaving, cracking, and puddles that never dry. We’ve fixed plenty of courts where this wasn’t handled right. It’s cheaper to do it correctly the first time than to tear it up and start over in five years.

If your court has surface cracks, fading, or spots that hold water, resurfacing can bring it back. We fill and repair cracks, level the low spots, and put down fresh acrylic coatings. New color, crisp lines. A good resurface adds 8 to 10 years to your court’s life.

Some courts have deeper problems. If the base has shifted or the drainage has failed, we’ll be straight with you about it. Resurfacing won’t fix a structural issue, and we won’t pretend it will.

Pickleball has grown fast in Peoria. The park district is adding courts, neighborhoods want them, and homeowners are putting them in backyards. The courts are smaller than tennis, but the construction isn’t any simpler. Actually, the smaller footprint means more concentrated foot traffic and faster wear if the surface isn’t right.

We build pickleball courts to USAPA specs. Correct dimensions, proper net height, surface texture that gives good grip without chewing up your shoes. Backyard courts, HOA facilities, multi-court setups for parks and rec. We’ve done all of it.

If you’ve got a tennis court that doesn’t get much use, converting it to pickleball is often the smart move. One tennis court fits four pickleball courts. Same space, a lot more players. We handle the full conversion: new surface, new striping, new nets. Way cheaper than building from scratch.

Pickleball courts wear out faster than most people expect. Heavy use in a small area does that. When the surface gets slick, the lines fade, or cracks start spreading, it’s time to resurface. We repair the damage, apply fresh coatings, and re-stripe with clean lines.

Resurfacing is also a good time to make changes if you’ve been thinking about it. Different colors, permanent net posts, layout adjustments. We’re already doing the work, so adding upgrades makes sense.

Basketball courts get more traffic and more impact than tennis or pickleball. More players, more running, more pounding on the surface. They need to be built to take that punishment. We construct courts that handle daily use without falling apart after a few seasons.
