You know what cheap court construction looks like after a couple of Illinois winters. Cracks running everywhere. Surface peeling. Water sitting in the same spots every time it rains. That’s what happens when the base work gets rushed or the wrong materials get used.

We’ve been building and repairing courts in Decatur and across Central Illinois for over two decades. Tennis, pickleball, basketball. Residential, commercial, municipal. The climate here is tough on outdoor surfaces, so we build accordingly. Proper base prep, quality materials, and no shortcuts. The courts we build 15 years ago are still in great shape.

A tennis court should last 20 years or more if it’s built correctly. We’ve seen too many around Decatur that didn’t make it 5 years before needing major repairs. The difference is always in the work you can’t see once it’s done.

We build from the ground up. Site prep, drainage, compacted stone base, asphalt or post-tension concrete, acrylic surfacing, fencing, net posts. You pick colors. We make sure water drains off and the surface plays true for decades, not just the first season.

Most tennis court failures start with the base. Contractors skip steps to save time, and you end up with cracks after two winters. We do it right because fixing it later costs three times as much as doing it properly from the start.

If your court has cracks, faded lines, or spots where water pools, resurfacing can bring it back. We fill and seal cracks, level the low areas, and apply fresh acrylic coatings. New color, new lines. You get another 8 to 10 good years.

Not every court is worth resurfacing. If the base has failed or the cracks are structural, we’ll tell you. Wasting money on a surface fix when you need a rebuild doesn’t help anyone.

Pickleball is everywhere in Decatur now. Parks are building courts, neighborhoods want them, homeowners are putting them in backyards. The courts are smaller than tennis, but that doesn’t mean the construction is simpler. If anything, the smaller playing area gets more concentrated wear.

Converting an unused tennis court? That’s often the smartest move. One tennis court becomes four pickleball courts. Same space, way more players. We resurface, re-stripe, and install the net systems. Costs a lot less than building new.

Pickleball courts wear fast. Lots of foot traffic in a small area. When the surface starts getting slick or the lines fade out, it’s time to resurface. We repair cracks, apply fresh coatings, and re-stripe with clean, accurate lines.

Want different colors or permanent net posts? Resurfacing is the time to do it. We’re already working on the whole surface, so adding upgrades makes sense.

Basketball courts see more abuse than any other sport surface. More players, more running, more impact. They need to be built to take it. We construct courts that handle heavy daily use without falling apart.
