You’ve probably seen courts around Champaign-Urbana that cracked within a few years of being built. Corners got cut somewhere. Bad base prep, wrong materials, or a contractor who didn’t know what Central Illinois weather does to outdoor surfaces. We’ve been called in to fix plenty of them.

AG Sports has been building courts in this area for over 20 years. We know the soil conditions, the drainage challenges, and what happens when you don’t account for freeze-thaw cycles. Our courts last because we build them to handle what this climate throws at them.

Tennis courts aren’t cheap. When you’re spending that kind of money, you want something that’s going to last 20 years, not 5. The difference comes down to how it’s built.

We do the whole job. Excavation, grading, stone base, asphalt or concrete, acrylic surface coatings, fencing, and net systems. You choose your colors. We make sure the drainage works and the surface plays the way it should.

A lot of contractors rush the base work because you can’t see it once it’s done. We don’t. That’s where court problems start, and it’s way more expensive to fix later than to do right the first time. Our courts hold up because we don’t skip steps.

Courts wear out over time. Cracks form, the surface oxidizes, lines fade, and water starts pooling in low spots. Resurfacing can add another 8 to 10 years to your court if the structure underneath is still solid.

We fill cracks, level problem areas, and put down fresh acrylic coatings. New lines, new color if you want it. If the base has failed, we’ll tell you. Sometimes a rebuild makes more sense than throwing money at a bad foundation.

Pickleball exploded in Champaign. Every park wants courts, HOAs are adding them, and homeowners are putting them in backyards. Smaller than tennis, but the construction matters just as much. Maybe more, since the playing area is concentrated and takes more wear per square foot.

We build to USAPA standards. Correct dimensions, proper net height, surface texture that gives you grip without tearing up your shoes. Single courts, dual setups, or full multi-court facilities for parks and rec departments.

Pickleball surfaces wear down faster than you’d expect. High traffic in a small area. When the surface gets slick or the lines disappear, it’s time to resurface. We fix the cracks, put down fresh coatings, and stripe it clean.

If you want to change colors or add permanent net posts, do it during resurfacing. Everything’s getting redone anyway, so it’s the right time to make changes.
